Maybe we should actually try helping for a change

Officials warned of concerns about AIDS drug
But U.S. sent medication to Africa anyway, documents show

Weeks before President Bush announced a plan to protect African babies from AIDS, top U.S. health officials were warned that research on the key drug was flawed and may have underreported thousands of severe reactions including deaths, government documents show...the National Institutes of Health, the government’s premiere health research agency, chose not to inform the White House as it scrambled to keep its experts’ concerns from scuttling the use of nevirapine in Africa as a cheap solution, according to documents obtained by The Associated Press.

See? This is what happens when you set up your goverment to punish people who tell the president what he doesn't want to hear. People STOP telling the truth. If the president wants a cheap solution to AIDS in Africa, that is what he gets. Even if it is an impossibility. It's bad enough that we are over there preaching ABSTINENCE and refusing to give money to organizations who dare hand out condoms, but now we are trying to find the cheap and easy route, consequences be damned.

It makes me sick. We talk about bringing freedom and all we bring is death. We talk about helping and all we do is harm.

This is your country. This is your country on BushCo.
