I need to work for the Pentagon

Apparently, deadlines are frowned upon there and you can steal as much money as you want without getting in to trouble. Well, if you are friends with Fuck Yourself Dick Cheney.

Pentagon Backs Off Halliburton

The Pentagon backed off its threat not to pay a Halliburton Co. subsidiary for troop support work, instead giving the company more time to justify its bills to the Army.
I might die from shock and surprise here! Except not.
Earlier Tuesday, Houston-based Halliburton had said the government planned to withhold 15 percent of its monthly payment, or about $60 million a month, from the company's KBR subsidiary on a contract to provide meal services, laundry, mail and housing for soldiers in Iraq and Afghanistan.

That reversed an announcement Monday, when the company said the Army Materiel Command had given it more time for its subcontractors to prove their costs before implementing a clause in a contract allowing the withholding of payments. Halliburton has already been granted extra time twice.

I dunno about y'all, but when I miss a deadline, I get in trouble. And if I miss it again, I probably get into bigger trouble. And if I miss it again, I GET FIRED!
Theis told The Washington Post in Wednesday's editions that Halliburton received extensions because there is insufficient staff in the government or at the company to review its many bills.
Do they need volunteers? Maybe they could round up the thousands of unemployed workers around the country and get them to look over the bills. OR! How about all of those FBI agents that are running around harrassing peace protestors. Wouldn't their time be more well served by keeping the armed forces from being RAPED UP THE ASS to the tune of BILLIONS of dollars by Cheneyburton? Just a thought.
The company has been awarded more than $6 billion in contracts related to the U.S.-led invasion of Iraq, but the company has been under fire for allegedly overcharging the government. Halliburton says it is a political target, denies wrongdoing and disputes whether withholding payment is legally justified.

Halliburton said its subsidiary would offset any loss by simply keeping 15 percent from payments to subcontractors.
Oh. That makes so much sense. Screw you guys, you can't mess with our profit! We just won't pay the companies who actually send people over to Iraq in to danger. Yeah! And maybe we can screw some illegal immigrants out of their $2/hr pay, too. Mwaahahaha!

Please please PLEASE explain to me how getting your dick sucked is worse than this? Keeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeerist.

Thanks to the lovely Americablog for the link.
